Fibromyalgia: Treatment should be comprehensive

 
 Fibromyalgia could be considered a disorder of the perception of pain. This painful syndrome that severely impairs the quality of life must be treated using a multidisciplinary approach: education therapeutic is an important factor, along with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies such as cognitive-behavioral. Fibromyalgia has been recognized since the 80s.
 
 Fibromyalgia is a syndrome recognized painful past twenty years. It is defined as a disorder of pain perception with a reduced pain threshold and a lack of adaptation to pain. But this syndrome is also accompanied many other emotional and physical symptoms: fatigue, anxiety, sleep disorders, depression.

 The first thing necessary is to provide detailed information on the patient's illness. The latter, like his family must understand what fibromyalgia. This first step allows actually reduce the clinical and thus reduce the number of visits and hospitalizations, while improving the quality of life of patients.
 
 Educational programs based on the principles and cognitive behavioral allow patients to develop strategies and learn to manage their disease every day.
 
 The cognitive-behavioral therapy
 There are, of course care, including drug prescribing painkillers and psychotropic drugs.
 But cognitive-behavioral therapies play a central role in the management of fibromyalgia.
 
 While the patient tends to focus on his pain, such therapies can become better acquainted, to control symptoms and to adopt appropriate behavior.
