Doctors assess CAM methods, often against back pain can be used. Result: Highest effectiveness exists in the form of short-term improvement in acute thrust.
Numerous studies on the use of complementary and alternative medicine in the treatment of back pain in recent years have been published. Health researchers from Canada and the Netherlands have recently such work in accordance with the applicable rules of the so-called evidence-based medicine will be studied and their results in an easy summary.
In the works were evaluated CAM techniques based on comparison of different methods (sham therapy, blank, other / similar therapies) were evaluated. Among the first authors of the study procedures included Plant products, acupuncture, massage, neuron-reflex therapy and the manipulation of the spinal cord.
For most of the techniques the researchers identified a positive therapeutic results. Sun demonstrated the effectiveness of acupuncture particularly evident in chronic pain, but other CAM techniques were not returned.
Plants preparations e.g. there were very rapid improvements - including increased agility - made shots unspecific where acute pain of the reason for doctor visits had been. Of the first authors had hoped for long-term effect, however, rarely terminated.
The researchers argue in favor of the effectiveness of CAM practices against back pain in the future again and again on the bench to make and also the cost-benefit related more to consider.
