Antibacterial oral hygiene products
Gingival inflammation are caused by plaque bacteria and can cause inflammation of the entire tooth restraint apparatus lead. It is the degradation of connective tissue and bone. Result: The teeth lose their grip and fall out. This disease is not necessarily given, but in addition to careful oral hygiene, depending on the predisposition of the patient. How can the same amount of plaque inflammation, depending on the slope of the patients very different degrees of severity of gingival inflammation. The daily oral hygiene with toothpaste and Mundspül solution with the drug combination Aminfluorid / Zinnfluorid (meridol) reduces the formation of plaque and leads to the restoration of healthy relationships at the gums - even if an increased susceptibility to gum inflammation exists. Earnings came to this Italian scientists in a new clinical study.
In the Journal of Clinical Periodontology published study examined the team to Leonardo Trombelli from the University of Ferrara, Italy, the first time the effect of oral hygiene products with Aminfluorid / Zinnfluorid in connection with the individual assessment of the patient.
At the beginning of the study were all 96 participants in the mouth a test and a control area determined. In the field test was held for 21 days no oral hygiene, to an artificially to produce gum inflammation. Four parameters for the plaque formation and progression of gingival inflammation were at the beginning and end of the study collected. The results showed that despite an almost identical plaque accumulation thank all participants for the values of the gingival inflammation relevant parameters very differently than expected. Based on this observation, scientists divided the participants into groups with high and low predisposition to gingival inflammation.
In the subsequent investigation period of three weeks putzten the participants with meridol toothpaste and used in addition meridol Mundspul solution. The parameters for plaque formation and gum inflammation is decreased in both groups decreased significantly at the end and were similar to levels comparable with the situation at the beginning of the study.
